NDA

Our Objectives

The Namibian Dental Association (NDA) is a not-for-gain association for dentists and dental auxiliaries. We aim to promote the dental and oral health of all Namibians by providing important information on dentistry. This includes information on dental conditions and procedures, recommendations for treatment and dental professionals who are part of the NDA.
We are committed to serving you. Therefore, we provide information that helps you make more informed decisions about your oral health needs.

To help you keep your smile healthy and beautiful.

To promote ethical dental services and discourage malpractice.

To assist and enable our members to provide you with the dental treatment you deserve.

To achieve our objectives,

This is important:

Restoring and enhancing smiles

We believe in using state-of-the-art procedures and techniques that will result in beautiful, long-lasting smiles.

Education and prevention of dental disease

Prevention is always better than cure. Preventative dental care and education are key to optimal dental health. Therefore, we promote regular dental examinations, routine cleanings, flossing, sealants and fluoride. These all help to prevent dental disease.

High standards of dental care

We advocate a standard of excellence in personalised dental care. This enables our members to provide the quality dental services you deserve. We support comprehensive treatment planning and use of restorative and cosmetic dentistry to achieve optimal dental health.

Safety in dental surgery

We advocate strict infection control in our members’ offices. To protect you and dental personnel alike, we advise the strict maintenance of sterilisation and cross-contamination processes.

Training and expertise of dentists and dental auxiliaries

To ensure you get the best possible service and results, we are committed to continual education and learning. We promote the attendance of dental congresses, lectures and meetings so our members stay informed of new developments and techniques, the latest products, and newest equipment a modern dental office can utilise to provide state-of-the-art dental care.

Total dental healthcare vs dental disease care

We promote dental healthcare, rather than dental disease care. We advise thorough dental examinations that include checking the overall health of your mouth, teeth and gums, taking dental X-rays when necessary and assessing your overall oral health. Our members are not only focused on the beauty of your smile, they are also concerned about your health. Therefore, we recommend a thorough review of your medical history. This allows your dentist to stay informed of your overall health, as well as any medications and illnesses that may impact your dental health.

Dental visits must be a positive experience

Building a foundation of trust – by treating patients as special individuals – is vital to a dentist’s success. We understand you might feel uneasy about visiting a dentist, therefore we urge our members to create a relaxing and positive experience for their patients. They are dedicated to providing you with excellent, personalised care and service to make dental visits as comfortable and pleasant as possible.

Remember your smile is our priority!
